Charles Hollis, Sensei began his studies under Sataki Shihan in late 1984 in Manhattan and studied intensively for over 20 years. In the year 2000 Hollis Sensei was promoted to Dojo-cho (Headmaster direct representative).

During this time Hollis Sensei also studied under Miguel Ibarra, Shihan in Daitoryu Kenkyukai, earning a 6th Dan.

Both arts were utilized during Hollis Sensei career as a NYPD Police Officer for 20 year. Hollis Sensei was a patrolman in South Bronx and later in his career in the Tactical Training Unit of the NYPD Police Academy.

While teaching in the academy Hollis founded the NYPD Aikido club. Officer Hollis was a first responder on September 11, 2001. Mr. Hollis retired as a senior officer in charge of the domestic violence apprehension unit.

Since his retirement he had accepted a position as an executive protection agent in corporate security.

Hollis Sensei was promoted to Shichidan (Seventh) Dan on June 9th, 2014.
